Description

A 6 week course for complete beginners or those with some knowledge who want to progress. From measuring, choosing fabric and pattern, understanding pattern terminology and layouts, to cutting out, tailors tacking, preparation to fit, fitting skills and finally making a simple top or skirt/trousers. Learn basic machine skills and how to use an overlocker. If you continue on after the first course, you can progress to more difficult patterns and techniques and the sky is the limit!

For those with some experience already,  tailoring is a natural progression. Learn to make a jacket, coat or suit, maybe for a special occasion.

Soft furnishings, hand finished curtains, roman blinds and cushion covers can also be taught alongside those learning other skills due to the small class numbers. Learn about measuring, estimating and construction using interlining, lining and hand finished curtain headings. Roman and other types of blind too and cushion and seat covers using piping.

Maximum of 4 students so plenty of individual attention.
